ANKARA X SUSPENDERS

How are you guys doing?
I wanna apologize for not posting on here for awhile now. I have been so busy with school. I just finished my Exams and oh it was wonderful.(Don’t ask me more please 😂) I didn’t have enough time to post but now I’m back and today’s post is about Suspenders and Ankara.

Well, let’s start with a little fashion history 101.
Ankara material which was formally called Dutch Wax Print is one of cheapest traditional material and can be used for almost everything in the aspect of fashion..shirts, pants, bags, shoes, accessories etc.It was originally manufactured for the Indonesian textile market by the Dutch but got more interest in west Africa and over time the prints changed to reflect Africa culture and lifestyle more.

Suspenders on the other hand is timeless. It’s also known as braces. They are a very classic piece in men’s style which came into existence during the 19th—20th century. Now they are back. Choose suspenders over belts and add a little old school flair.well there are some tiny rules never to break when it comes to suspenders.

Some we say don’t match the suspender with your socks but matching suspenders with socks can be pulled of when done well. So for people like me who doesn’t like boring colours can wear matching suspenders and socks. 

Also the waist line of the pants should not be tight. Pants with the waist line of about an inch larger than usual.

Shop your size. Get the right size of suspenders. The straps are generally adjustable for a prefect fit

Finally and most Important.. Never wear suspenders and belt. It’s a NO NO. Why do that? Of course they serve the same purpose and shouldn’t be worn together.
